Understanding Pega Robot Runtime and Synchronization Server

Pega Robot Runtime

Pega Robot Runtime is the environment where your automations are executed. It supports both attended and unattended automations:

  • Attended Automations: Executed by a user, usually on a desktop. These automations assist users in performing tasks more efficiently.

  • Unattended Automations: Run in the background on a server without manual supervision. Pega Robot Manager extends the functionality of these automations, enabling batch processing of large volumes of work.

Synchronization Server

The Pega Synchronization Server manages software updates for your robotic automation components. Here’s how it works:

  • Control Software Downloads: Manage the software downloaded to desktops. When a new product version is released, you can test it in an isolated environment before deploying it.

  • Store Releases: Use the server to store releases for Pega Robotic Automation components, such as Pega Native Foundation, Pega Browser Extension, Pega RPA Service, Pega Synchronization Engine, and Pega Robot Runtime.

  • Server Status Tool: Monitor the health and status of the Synchronization Server and Security Token Service (STS). This tool provides information about server health, product lists, versions, and selected configuration options.
